And now we have the first pre-sale for Effigy Mounds:

I think I'll wait a little while - silver looks like it's going to drop...

I'm glad they put some trees in the background of E M animal cracker puck, they are the best part of the design. Sorry Iowa. I'm from Ohio and this puck even makes the Perry puck look good.

Not my favorite either. Sometimes I wonder how they decide.

Do we have word from the US Mint about maximum mintage quantities for both numismatic & bullion versions of the 2017 ATB 5 oz silver coins? I do remember the mint announcing these at the beginning of every year.

Earlier this week I ordered a tube of 10 of the Ft/ Moultrie before they start doing a disappearing act from the dealers. Lowest bullion mintage in a couple of years...

Sooo...silver should start it's sharp decline now that my order has been placed.

Electronic check is great. No waiting for the USPS to deliver your check and then another 5 days to clear. Four days after you click "place order" it is usually shipped.

Typically the silver proof quarter looks the best with the ATB designs. Much better than the standard proof, bullion puck finish or the vapor blast of the P pucks. But I just saw the EM cracker animal design on a silver proof quarter and even that finish couldn't help the animal crackers.

Are you talking about the uncirculated P version of the 5 Oz or the actual proof quarters?

The actual silver proof quarter. The uncirculated P 5 oz. version has the vapor blast. The silver proof quarter has the frosted design with mirror background. The only mirrored background is a small sliver of sky. The quarter is dominated by the animal crackers and trees.

That's what I thought you meant. I haven't seen the Quarter proofs yet. I don't particularly like this first coin but I guess I will get one to keep up the set. I'm not sure which of the 5 this year I will pick for a Christmas gift. I usually get my favorite or a coin where the receipient has visited. This year while we have all gone to some of the parks, I'm just not fond of the look of the coin.
