To all those who think 2011 magnetic cents are rare..... I just picked one up off the ground in the Home Depot Parking lot. Still probably MS63, but it was raining so I expect it will turn ugly........ Edited by Smallcentguy

It can't turn Ugly, I have the market cornered.
I don't think they are rare. I just think they are yet to be evenly distributed :)

I've been finding both regularly. I just received three in change at the same location and two were magnetic and one was non-magnetic.

In my roll hunting this week, I've gone through 10 rolls of pennies so far. I've found 16 2011 and 3 were magnetic. My experience so far is that they don't seem to be as common out west but I wouldn't call them rare.

Went to Tim Horton's today and got change back and 3 of them were pennys, which 2 were 2011 and both were magnetic.

Maybe not rare itself, but definately more rare than the 2009 Magnetic.

When 2011 magnetic pennies first came out I went on a search only to find non magnetic ones.
Imaginaire.com now has rolls of magnetic 2011 logo on for $1.99.

Its funny to hear people say the 2009 is scarce l seem to find an almost even amout of mag and non mag for 09 and 11s now. At first there was a scarcity of them around here but it seems to be evening out - well in southern Ontario at least

The 2011 mag. is not rare in my area anymore.
At first,there were non around but since the middle of December until now ALL are magnetic.(It doesn't seem to matter what store they come from,)
By the way they seem to all have that"just from the mint"look.
Now I'm having trouble finding MS non-mags.
