Compare it to the 1971P-1DO-001 MDS on coppercoins.It looks pretty good.

It sure looks like a 1971P-1DO-001 to me, mainly from looking at the "L" in liberty and "GOD".

Yup, that's the one! A nice doubled die!

At one time these were bringing close to $500 in nice red BU condition. Yours is less than half that value, but still a really nice one!

I have never found an example of this die.

That's kinda funny since it isn't really visible in the date, especially on circulated coins. It's really only readily apparent in LIBERTY and IN GOD.

What is on the top right of the 7 and on the end of the 9 (inside part)...I swear I see doubling!

What you see in the date are probably coin hits.

Trust me...the doubled die on this coin is barely visible under magnification on the date, and that's just for nice EDS examples in mint state. I've seen enough of these I should know. I've never 'found' one of them, but I have owned a couple, and I have attributed another dozen or so.
