I am fairly new to collecting but I do know 32s and 32d are key dates. So when I saw this in a antique shop I kinda thought I needed to buy it. I haven't started my Washington Set but maybe this is the start. Questions.... Was it cleaned? If so is it worth anything? (The lady said I could return it if I didnt' want it...I am assuming I am gonna keep it) Any thoughts to a value? (would it even grade VG?) I am ignorant at grading quarters Thanks Edited by Jayman931 12/06/2011 6:37 pm

That coin would have a hard time with a G grade.
Closeup on the mintmark possible?

mint mark sure looks good for a coin in that condition. I think it may have been applied.

Reverse rim is completely gone and the obverse rim is almost worn off as well, I would grade it no higher than FR-2 with a value of $40-50.

This is the best I can do with a close up. I don't think it has been cleaned but I could be wrong. It was in a bag with other silver quarters. Does it carry any value at all? I payed $11

Personally, I think it has a cleaned look to it. As far as the mint mark, I'd say it looks fine, but I'm no expert. To me totaly worth any risk for $11.00. I'd do a deal like that all day long.

Cleaned...perhaps. Certainly scratched badly. Regardless, this is an AG at best. IGWT is almost completely obliterated. The L and Y are almost gone and the bottom half of the date is gone as well. The reverse is very badly worn as well. biokemists grade is the low end on this coin. My saying AG is being somewhat lenient. 60 would be the max I would pay for that coin, perhaps less with coin in hand. Having said that, ANY 32S or D is good to have so long as you dont drastically over pay. Forrefernce, tis is a G04 32D from PCGS.

At 11 bucks that's a steal! Yes the coin is rough and I would've gotten it had it been more than $50 or so. I would've saved up for one in better condition. But at 11? Heck yeah!

considering a junk silver quarter is currently $5.80 at spot, I would say $11 is an amazing price for any 1932S nomatter how worn it is. nice deal!
