well, my mom only got brought $100 to the store.(only ended up spending $70) but I'm definitely going back there. Lots of silver value coins. Question is a 1936 dot 25 cent a rare coin? saw it there for $950

Wow, I'm totally jealous ... yah, there are zero coin stores in my "current" hometown, so my only hope is random ebay and/or hoping to God that nobody bids on those on-line auctions! => and actually, every now and then, it's been awesome => I plow-through and gather-up everything at bargain prices ... but then geesh, some auctions I can't score one single bargain ... it's odd? ... anyway ... Ooops, but sorry, it's not all about me =>>> good for you, Dude => please post some pics!

1936 dot 25 cent a rare coin? saw it there for $950 Geeesh => obviously it depends upon the grade, right!? I have a few nice examples, but they aren't in that league! (I have a few VFs) NOTE => $950 => if "I" was buying it, it'd better be at least "AU50" and hopefully better than that => like MS-6? => however, totally a very cool coin to collect! (it's an investment)

Sorry coincollect1, I thought you were talking about a 1936 dot "quarter" (because I collect quarters, so they're always on my brain) ... but apparently a 1936 dot "cent" is extremely rare (but it mentions in the Charlton catalogue that "not one circulated examples has been satisfactorily authenticated ..." ... so I would be a bit cautious

Hello Stevex6, I love the pre-1967 quarters as well. The 1936 varieties are one of my favourites. I recently acquired an I.C.C.S., 1936, quarter, "bar" variety, MS-64. Now to hunt for a "dot"! Glenn

glenzy1 => your 1936 bar quarter sounds like a real winner! (MS-64 ... nice) I only have F-15 versions of the bar quarter and the dot quarter ... however, I plan on upgrading both of them at some point (I seem to be upgrading my quarter collection, rather than branching-out and starting on a different denomination ... note => however, I have sort of started collecting 50 cent pieces, but not to the same extent as my quarter obsession) ... anyway ... => you should post a pic of your MS64-bar Curious, the Charlton catalogue doesn't list the bar quarter, so I'm never quite sure whether it is more or less valuable than it's dot sibling? (which trends at a higher price, any idea?) NOTE => I have also seen dot-bar versions => now I'm betting that those babys must be pretty pricey, eh? thanks
