JadeSpear I',m on the road for the next week or so. I'll make a point to check my reference books to confirm it when I get back. It certainly looks to be the real deal. I am a little Leary of Breen's book as it has a couple of shall we say mistakes. I put a little more stock in Leone or Flynn. It certainly is a RPD its rarity is the only thing I might question.

Hello NoHope,

Thanks for your quick note.
I just got confirmation from The Kevin Flynn and he said "...this definitely Breen 2385, Triple punched date."!
I am thrilled. I do not think too many have come up in auction in MS r/b grades. I am speaking with Heritage presently. Meanwhile, I am sending this off to PCGS.
Please take a look at my coin when you get free. Let me know what you think.
Thanks,

Yep it's a triple punched date! The notch in the top of the 8 is not as pronounced in the triple date as in the double daye also the shift is in a different direction. I have Breen, Leone, and both Flynn references, but in storage, I'll see if I can get them out, I also might have this variety, only mine would be VF or less I'm sure. Big time score, don't know what I was saying regarding the color in my first comment, I must have been replying and looking at another tab at the time. I'd bet PCGS would grade this baby, probably if the color is original. Looks UNC probably around MS62BN, but hard to tell from the photos alone.

FYI...I will submit to NGC. PCGS doesn't attribute varieties!
Amazing that they do not. So off to NGC this coin and many other varieties will go....
