I recently picked up like 30 of these strikes for cheap. And was just wondering if there is any type of collectible market for these besides there silver content? I haven't seen them yet but they are coming from a good source so I'm not worried. He did tell me that 4 of them are $20 strikes and that are solid rounds with no brass, probably 1 oz a piece. For the price I couldn't go wrong but now I'm just wondering what to do with them. Would it be worth eBaying them? I also picked up these stupid half a troy pound buffalo rounds. What is the purpose of a 6 oz coin? Anyway, thanks for the tips on selling them.

Not sure what you are referring to as a "strike" but...

I had a dozen $10 casino gaming tokens that were 0.6 oz. of .999 silver with about a 1/4" wide brass ring around them. My son sold them on ebay and did well with them. If what you have is similar, they should do well on ebay too.

Rest in Peace

silver strikes from casinos contain 0.6-0.65 ounces of silver each. If you advertise them on ebay and don't mention that, people may bid as if they are a full ounce.

Some might. In the auction that my son ran for me on ebay, the bidding level showed pretty clearly that the bidders were well aware that these were just over 1/2 oz. of silver.

They have their collector market, limited as it may be, and they are cool to look at, the designs, diff casino's, etc.....

I never go after anything that is not pure .9999, and that is an issue I need to deal with, lol....

I'm with silverhawk on this one. it's a niche market and the majority would prefer pure silver coins or would bid based on silver content.
As the ebay mantra goes though, you only need 2 buyers interested in the auction to drive the price up.

silver strikes are a fine way to collect silver. Just remember most are 0.5 troy oz not the 0.6 many will try to upsale you on (some have been done with 0.6oz however most are not)

Indeed it is, Hawk!

If you could get a close look at some of my proof 90% US silver quarters and half dollars, you might very well change your mind on this issue.

Of course, I DO like the 1-oz. ASEs and Maple Leaf silver coins a lot too.
