SPP-Ottawa Moderator Canada 10471 Posts	Posted 12/14/2011 9:00 pm I have zapped tons of "yellowish 1859s" under the XRF at work, including those colleagues of mine who were large cent collectors and their coins "had a shot at being brass". None of those were even close to being brass, ever! If you want a comparison, go find a French 1944 2 Francs coin (KM#905), well circulated from a world junk bin. It is a brass coin, and THAT is the colour you should be looking for...
