I have a lot of coins to look through. Stuff I've been buying for nearly 20 years now accumulated into a - well, hoard. I have 12 foot lockers filled to over 300 pounds each with coins, then many, many boxes beyond that. Out of hand, really.

So...I have begun the long, arduous process of looking through them - just a few rolls at a time, whatever works. I opened the first box this morning and will work through them until I'm done and my holdings equal less than one-tenth of what I have now.

Before you ask, I don't need or want help. I got these to look through myself.

Also before you ask - the contents of box #1...

Sorted coins, about $30 face, all memorials. 'Sorted' meaning they are already broken down to last digit. The bag I pulled first contains 1967, 1977, 1987, 1997, and 2007.

I will report findings should I actually have any.

Sounds like a long task, but good luck and keep us updated. I am sure there are a lot of cool stuff in that hoard.

The camera only comes out if I find stuff of special interest. Most of what I find just goes into holding tubes until I get time to attribute it and figure out what I have. I have hundreds of rolls of RPMs and doubled dies that will eventually get my attention, but the first order of business is to get rid of hundreds of thousands of no-value coins.

That's one hoard I wouldn't mind looking through.
I'm sure you'll find lots of good stuff, and have fun while searching too.

Heck of a job there. Just a thought, but if you were interested in doing so, maybe after or during the sorting etc. Might be worthwhile to keep the copper rejects just in case the law changes on the abolishing of the one cent.
