Yeah, I think the quality has gone down considerably. With the internet came more people collecting. More collectors means higher prices so sellers are going through the finds with a fine tooth comb because their is a demand. What's left are the unclean lots offered today with very little of value to be found.
About a year ago, I swore off unclean lots because of the poor quality. Thus for every one decent coin I found I had three or four slugs or near slugs. It just isn't worth it. I say this just after I purchased an uncleaned lot I haven't even received yet. There is mystery in cleaning coins and a hope you just might find something worthwhile. Dreams I guess.
I would like to find a lot as nice as yours, but sadly lots like this are not easy to come by. Very nice coins in that lot.
