I'm new to the sport of Coin Roll Hunting (CRH).
I started in early Dec. after reading about alot of cool finds in the rolls, kinda like M.D'ing, never know what will pop up.
I've searched 4 boxes (10,000) so far, on #5 now, and have come away with a couple nice finds.
Totals so far.

Great finds , but the 1929 doesn't look to be a high 9

I thought the 29 was a high 9. only because the second 9 is not the same as the first. the first drops below the 1 and 2, where the second 9 is lvl with the 1 and 2. also the first 9 kinda has a tail pointing up.
Like I said though I'm new to this and just going by pic in books.
Bad pic, i'll try for a better pic later today to see if I get one clearer.
Thanks Dave

I'm surprised you found so many older US cents, were they distributed evenly among the boxes,or was there one "lucky" box?

I think the 9 is high. The blob under it makes it a bit hard to be sure.

Looks like a 'High 9' to me...

The 1929 is put away for confirmation. just need to find a place to take it for id.
I've been finding alot of nice shape 70's coins. I need to learn to grade better so I can keep anything over AU.
Right now if it shines it's mine, lol sort them later.
Oh ya just remembered. my bucket of 1996 and later needs to be sorted again, for 79, 83, and 85's.

I too am new to roll hunting. Started my hunt with two boxes in Nov. Another thread on this site "boxes of coins..." also has some interesting finds. My finds out of 5000 pennies where;
230 US pennies from 1914-2009 (130 duplicates. Started a US penny collection with the 100. A roll of dimes (packed in a penny holder) Collected a roll of 2011 magnetics 1- 1966 Kurus from Turkey I believe 1- 1992 10 cent from Hong Kong 1- 1995 50 cent from Keyna
Nothing very exciting with canadian coins, was hoping for a 2006 P but that is a long shot. Not many canadian older than 1960.
Ordered another 5000 pennies so will see what I find.

I don't pre order pennies, less chance of mint rolls that way. I just go in and ask for a box of pennies, they grab the rolls and box them for me. I have 2 banks I get from and just the 1 I drop at. but there are like 15 banks here so lots of places to grab them.
Good luck with the roll hunting.

You are lucky to be able to walk into a bank and get boxes of coins. The banks that I have tried to get boxes from either want you to have an account, them will order them for you, or if you do not have an account are hesitant to provide the boxes. Will try a couple other banking institutions to see what happens.
