I am new to coin collecting and I came across this and purchased it. I have not received the coin yet, but their pictures are pretty good. I would really appreciate any input y'all can give me!

Thanks!

Looks like a decent VF-20/25 coin, heavily polished from what you paid for it not a bad price at all. The rim ding on the Rev showing will keep the price down and so will the heavy over polishing, looks like the weak detail on the obv. @ 4:00 area is from the polising wheel, probably had some serious build-up of gunk they took off. $45.00 is about as much as I would pay, probably more like $35.00 or $40.00 if possible. All in all not a bad purchase.

Unfortunately.

I would be very leery of this seller since he claims this coin has "Mint luster" and is "XF/AU". It does not.

IMO, it's an "Genuine-VF Details (Polished)" coin

Thanks everyone for your great advice! I liked the looks of the coin and figured it had been cleaned. I was at the top of what I would pay for it. For some reason I am drawn to the older halves and I really like the seated liberty and the walkers!

Thank you very much for the warm welcome!

I hope the learn from all of you and be able to get a good idea of the grade from a couple pictures like you do!

Original, pfft.

I don't think its necessarily polished though, I think there's a good chance its just been over-dipped and that the picture was too glare-ey.

What do you mean, Shadow, by "over-dipped"?

First off,

The coin seems to be about midrange VF, cleaned. $45.00 may have been a bit too high, but all in all, not a bad purchase. Nice coin!

I received the coin last night, and it is very pretty. I am fairly sure it has been cleaned. Here is a pic:
