I've been receiving ebay dispute messages over the past couple months. They want to know why I haven't sent an item or why I haven't paid for an item or something along these lines. They use real auctions and real ebay identities, but are otherwise spoofed. Buncha garbage. I was sending them to ebay's abuse department, but it's less time consuming now just to trash them.

On the flip side of the coin, a non-winning bidder for one of my auctions received a fake Second Chance Offer. Fortunately, the recipient had the smarts to contact me rather than respond to the message. But as a result, I've now had to include in my auctions a statement that I do not send Second Chance Offers.

The con artists never give up.

I get two or three different ones a week. Saying I need a password change, account has been suspended, asking me to pay for something I didn't buy and the worst of all is saying I have a second chance offer on a coin I did bid on but didn't win. You have to watch those close. All these notifications will be in your MY ebay if they are legit.
Be careful and never respond or give information to any of these scam emails.

I get email once per week stating that if I do not respond, my paypal account will be cancelled. I also get (once per week also) the good old email stating that there has been attempts to access my paypal account. Funny thing is these come to an email account that neither paypal or ebay even knows exsist. Hmm.

I know it's a pain in the tail-end, but I'd like to suggest that we, as a group of conscientious collectors, try to always forward these phony communications to either spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com as a matter of habit. My reasoning is this: The more of this kind of garbage that inundates their system, the more they ( ebay and PayPal) might seriously work towards the elimination of these "phishing" expeditions by scammers. Ebay/PayPal have more money than God, therefore more ability to fix this problem, and they need to be aware of the enormity of this problem, and need to be made to fix it as much and as soon as possible.

End of rant

I forwarded them but most important
I included the headers
By doing this it enables the email to be tracked back to the sender.

I have been suspended by both ebay and pay pal at least a dozen times in the last couple of months,, I have even had someone buy tires using my pay pal account ,, which was a very good trick since I have not put a card # on there in the last 3 or 4 years. and I removed the one that they lost the info from at that time.

They are spoofs and nothing ever happens to them no matter how many of them are forwarded to the trust and safty team.

anyone who can prove different I would welcome the info !!

Agreed. Many if not most (all?) originate in third world countries or where enforcement is difficult or impossible. About the only way to get to the spoofers is to send in some Special Forces, SEAL Teams, or Delta Force troops to take them out. I would not be opposed to this approach, even if it created some more foreign relations problems. Come to think on it, the host nations might even provide troops themselves.
