Nice looking coin! I;d go MS-64 or 65 PL It's hard to tell from a single photo, the PL could be DMPL but that would need the coin to be in hand. I'm seeing a few light marks on the cheek but an few big ones on the neck, so probably MS64PL

Very pretty coin. Looks like an MS65PL for sure. What is going on under the tail feathers? Carbon spot?
Also the rim looks a little rough at 6:00 on the reverse but that shouldn't stop it from grading gem.

I am thinking MS-64 PL maybe DMPL depending on how reflective it is. Nice coin!

Definitely a beautiful Morgan! Impossible to grade from a photo but should be at least MS64PL.

Tremendous images of a tremendous coin. 65PL on my cellphone; I may think a grade lower on my regular monitor.

Thanks everyone. I had thought MS-64PL as well, with a good shot at a MS-65PL.
I don't have the coin in hand yet, so I cannot comment on whether the coin is PL or DMPL.

Nope. Still thinking 65. I see a point of worry on the neck, and I wonder about the black mark on the reverse. Once it's in-hand, you may choose to get it into acetone to see what might be done with that black mark - the acetone will have no effect on the reflectivity.

I have never used Acetone before, so I am a little hesitant about that.

Based on how reflective the coin is in these pictures, do you think this coin will have a shot at DMPL?
How will I determine PL from DMPL when I get the coin in hand?

Quote: How will I determine PL from DMPL when I get the coin in hand? A good rule of thumb uses reflected newspaper print. For PL, you should be able to read newsprint reflected in the coin, crystal-clear at 4". For DMPL, that number should be more like 8" or even better. Don't know if you've ever held a true DMPL Morgan before, but once you see one you'll know from that moment onward what it's about. They're staggering. You would be confident shaving with one as a mirror.

I would say MS63 PL. Carbon spot on the back detracts and obverse luster looks inconsistent.
Maybe 64 with better photos
( also just noticed big black spot in hair on obverse hair )
