I'm a new-comer. This is the first time I write. I have a Canadian 1908 Quarter which I bought more than 30 years ago at a Coin Show. On the cardboard it's written SP-65 (with Superb gold toning). Did they make Specimen coins in 1908 or have I been taken? Also, if they made Specimens in 1908, what is the equal value in MS, so that I can establish its value?

First welcome and Please post a Clear picture, because a hand written grade isn't all that dependable.

Yes 1908 had specimens and you can't really compare them to business strikes. An MS 65 would be a valuable piece indeed, maybe 2400-3500. An SP 65 less than half that. Maybe someone here has up to date trends information that I lack in terms of pricing, I've not bought anything like that in some time though I've sold a few in the past five years or so.

Yes there are 1908 specimen quarters
If it's genuine ballpark would be $1500, MS65 about $3000
Theý're more available than MS65's
