Hey there. I've went through 2000 pennies and have found some interesting finds and I have separated all of the double die years from one another. Going through the 1972 P's I'm still having a little trouble telling some of them apart and I was just wondering what you think? I will post a couple pics from some that I've already went through. As always, thanks for you help.

I don't see anything from these pics, but if you are able to, getting closer images is almost always better for doubled dies. Then again, I have yet to find a '72 DDO so it could just be me! Also check coppercoins.com to see if your coins match up with any of the known DDOs.

I don't know if that is what these 2 are or not. I'm still quite new to this and can't yet tell the differces between master die doubling or double dies with this level of doubling being a little subdued.

Is there any certain section that I should be focusing on more than others John1? And thanks for your reply.

I've checked out the info on coppercoins.com but cannot really tell because the photos are more thumbnail size and cannot be clicked on to view a larger image. I'm starting to feel like Don Music before he hits his head on the piano.

The photos on CC's site are not all thumb nail size. If you click on the EDS or MDS or LDS in blue you can see a larger photo.

Master die doubling found from all three mints. It is a doubled die, but so common it is not a premium coin.

Thanks for the info coop. I just think that the '72 Lincoln is a hard year to decipher for us newer Lincoln Cent collectors. I'm sure that I'll get the hang of it but it is going to take so time and reading and lots of trial and error.

They key things to watch for is the N on IN, D on GOD, The E on WE and the B on LIBERTY. They all look the same for the master die doubled coins. The DDO's don't look like that.

Hey now that is a great tip. Thank you very much as you saved me many needless uploads and questions to the CC (this forum). :)
