I am new to collecting and I have been learning what the value is of some of the paper notes and silver certificates are. What is the significance and possible value increase of a star note? I have a couple of 1935 $2 bills with a red stamp and a star instead of the first letter and I have not found sufficient info how they are valued.

The condition is a little low but not bad,but a star note is a star note is a star note. Unless the note is real bad I keep all star notes I find that are $1,$2,$5.Can't afford to keep any higher doms.Nice find.

Keep those that I get to. For Christmas my daughter (bank teller) gave me a 4 in one sheet of 5 dollar star notes. Had a lady that came into the bank and wanted to get rid of them. 2003 series

Oddly enough my son just started collecting with me and we were counting out some dollar bills the other day and found a star note in them. He was super excited so it went straight into his collection. Was just a coincidence we were counting the bills out like that just for something to do as I would have never even looked any other day.

Nice note riffraff, even it is quite wrinkled. The serial # is a really nice #. I think that might add more to the note than the star and a combination of the two, might make it worth more than face. :-)

With notes that wrinkled, I put them in the middle of a large book and put something heavy on the book. It helps press out the wrinkles. It'll never pass for CU, but it helps. Also, put some clean white sheets of paper between the pages, to keep the ink of the pages off of the note.

Just make a note of what book and page #, so you don't forget. :-)
