This is not a coin; it's a religious medal. Western numismatists call them "Indian temple tokens"; this is a Muslim example. As I understand it, they are typically given to pilgrims departing on the Hajj to Mecca.

These pages on zeno.ru show various types of Islamic "temple tokens", including several with the same "mosque" design yours has - which is apparently supposed to be a depiction of the Mosque of the Prophet in Medina.
On the other side, inside the square is the Islamic Kalima, or statement of faith, surrounded by the names of the first four caliphs of the Caliphate. This design is copied off mediaeval Indian silver coins and most Islamic temple tokens feature it.
