Well I just purchased my first coins in the consolidation process of my collection. I bought them off e-bay and should get them soon. It was the 2001s Sac. Pr69 ultra camio, 1981s S.B.A. Pr.69 ultra camio, 2004s1 Handshke and 1 Keelboat Pr69 ultra camio,2005s 1 Ocien view and 1 Bison Pr69 ultra camio, and the 2006s Jefferson Pr69 ultra camio. I'm buying certified NGC. What do you think of this grading co.? As soon as I get the coins I will put the pics on. As my consolidation proceeds I will be putting putting pics. on I'm Begining with the moderns and working my way back.I already have allot of certified coins and I will be putting those pics. on to. Any feedback that you can give helps. Like I said the forum is a great way to share your collection without the worry of the wrong people seeing them. And I do like to share and talk about coins. Tell me your thoughts on this. BUSTHALF

What do you mean by "consolidation"? Will you sell 3 VF specimens and buy one AU?

Are you working on an NGC registry set?

I haven"t really thougt along the lins of registry set. Yes to get a certified type I would sell to VF's "raw" for an AU "certified" Consolidation I mean to decrease the number of coins but not the value of the collection.

Evertime I consoliate some of my collection, a few weeks later if seems like I have even more coins. The hoard keep growing. Sell it down and it grows bigger.

Busthalf, I think you are on the right track. I have always been a believer in buying the best coin you can, and quality rules over quantity.
If I had one word of advice to you, it would be to collect the classics first and to be very particular with what you buy. Sticking to ngc and pcgs will not only teach you how to properly grade for yourself but will help to protect your investment.
Have fun busthalf, your enthusiasm is refreshing!

I think you're making wise choices. NGC is a quality company, and the PR69's represent coins so fine that you couldn't find a flaw without a loupe, while not carrying the sometimes-unreasonable premium of PR70. Excellent compromise, in my opinion.
