I'd still buy in if I had extra dough.

Same here Pobox, as I am never smart enough to set on the dollar and wait for the windows. And it is down 1.65 now, 27.08 and holding, and no late recovery as of yet, but good chance that will happen when the Asian markets open and they wake up and realize what a buying window has presented itself.....

I'd be careful with the NTR bars though. They don't seem to command much premium over spot, but this also means you won't get good prices when selling.

True dat, I would rather get an Englehard just over 300 or so, but their stock is fading fast, they are out of much right now.... Forget about a 35 dollar Britannia, or something..... Perth Mint rabbit lunar 2 oz. coins are priced reeeeeeeaaaaaalll nice right now at about 85 shipping an all, try an find that on ebay, lol....

I just checked the price via your link, Hawk, and it is $282 per bar, less if you buy in certain quantities, such as 10 bars. I just wish that these bars had serial numbers. I like that feature on a PM bar... a lot. Still, this is a heckuva nice price. Was it really THAT long ago that 10-oz. Ag bars were around $425-450?

Good call Ed, as I did not realize that. Probably better right now to try an get a nicer premium bar if possible and sealed, for 300 total if possible, and that is a big if....
I am gonna check those bars of 5 oz. you like from Silver-towne out of curiosity and see what they are currently listed at....

Don't count your losses in one year. My dollar cost average is so far ahead it would take a total collapse of the market for me to loose money.
Only new investors within the past year are learning about speculation and if you were looking to make a fast buck you certainly picked one of the hardest investments to do so.
Now is the time to keep buying in small amounts as the price continues to go down.

SilverTowne 5 and 10 oz bars are very nice. Quote: The price on the 5 oz. sealed silver-towne bars right now is 148.50 and free shipping to my location.... Man, that is tough to beat wit a stick.... Indeed it is, Hawk. Might have to place another order for some more of those 5ers.

Looking for some education and/or opinions here, but I've always felt that ASEs were the way to go if you were buying "premium" silver, especially since they have a lower premium compared to the Eng and JM bars. Also, I understand that the vast majority of the Eng and JM bars available for sale are unsealed and have "wear and handling marks", and if you can find them, you pay an even bigger premium to get them in AU/BU shape. Since most of my stack is ASEs (about 1/8 is 90% silver), I decided to add some 10oz NTR bars this week with the intention of diversifying with some cheap, at cost silver. They seem to be quite ubiquitous and I've observed several of the 10oz bars sell on ebay for enough to actually turn a (minuscule) profit after covering ebay, shipping and the small premium that Provident charges. What are you guys doing and what are your thoughts with paying that kind of premium for circulated bars of bullion? Do you expect the premium of the "premium" bars to increase over time?
