Hello

I have about $200 in copper pennies I'd like to sell on ebay. I know to ship in the flat rate boxes. I'd like to use a bank bag for the pennies to be placed in the box. I saw some people use coinlok? bags for shipping. Is there a particular size that will hold $100? Looks like there's a 12x20 and 10x15.

Also is there a limit on how many $25 boxes of pennies you can get from the bank. What has been your experience?

Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
Mike

I think $100 face value might weigh more than the 70 pounds allowed in a flat rate box.

However, if you are only selling that much, you could probably get a few of the bags from your bank. That's where I got all of my coin bags.

And to CCF!

Well with my experience, the most boxes of 25$ I've gotten at once was 13.
Rest in Peace

You may need two bags for that many. They could tell you.

That's up to the bank. Some will require an account, others a business account, some will let you have whatever you want. If you're up front about what you're doing, some will sell you boxes and let you return them after searching, since there are always businesses needing cents. Keep in mind it may cost them for delivery, so they're doing you a huge favor.

Nope. Two bags of wheat (heavier) cents in a double box* come in just under the limit.

*Make two boxes, tops open, get a running start and cram one inside the other. Amazingly strong.

$100 in copper cents will be close to 69.5 lbs, a close call.

#68 new, a couple # less if worn. Two bags of wheats bagged and double boxed usually come in a few ounces under the limit.

biggfredd:Thank you for the correction. I had calculated it at $1.44 a pound, upon recalculating I get $1.47. That puts it right at 68 lbs.

I sell copper cents on ebay and I reuse the plastic bags I get from the counting machine at my bank. They are $50 bags. Two will fit in a medium flat rate box and weigh in at 68 lbs.
