I have been bidding on a Trade dollar type for my 7070, and the same bidder keeps outbidding me, FOUR times so far, on four different items.

I realize that ebay hides the identity of other bidders, but this info keeps showing up; e***l( 2174). I am wondering if this is a shill bid to raise the prices, but I have not received a second chance offer...yet from upscaleyardsalestore.

I am just not buying the coincidence.

Frustrating!

Are they all from the same seller? If so then it could be a shiller or a seller's faithful regular.

probably someone who collects the same coins as you that's happened to me on occasion when it's the same seller especially if there's a discount on shipping multiple coins.

I have dealt with buyers who are in cohorts with sellers before. Buyers that always up-bid others to get the maximum value for the sellers. These buyers try their very best to not actually out-bid you, obviously, and they also don't generally have 2174 feedback. I think it really might be a strange coincidence with you.

Yes, it was for four different Chop-marked (older, small white holders) ANACS Trade dollars from the same seller who usually does not deal in coins (yeah, we've all heard that one before).

Maybe it is best to move along.

I recently outbid others intentionally on several Morgans from the same seller (seperate listings) because I wanted his collection. I snipe during the last few seconds, avoiding raising the price before that.

i outbid if I want a set of something and snipe if I'm away. So its more than possible you just lost to someone that wanted it more.

Probably someone who is putting together a set of "chop-marked" Trade dollars.

I may not be ready enough to shell out some bigger bucks either.

Time to reassess the situation - sell, sell, sell.
