I have always found this variety interesting.

There are double Ds in DEI and CANADA, as well as a nice N/N in CANADA.

I was wondering if anyone was aware of this variety and how common or scarce it may be. Also, has anyone seen this variety in any year other than 1892?

I believe both Dan Flynn and Rob Turner have published about this variety (if not in paper, then certainly online). Others can pipe in regarding scarcity...

I wrote about these legends in Dies & Diadems. Quite a few obverse C3 dies had the doubled D's, as well as other doubled legends. I catalogued several dies used in 1891 that looked like this. 1892 had multiple dies like this also. Not scarce at all.
