Picked Me Up Some Silver! - Coin Community Forum

jgray44 Valued Member United States 90 Posts	Posted 12/30/2011 10:05 pm 16 to be exact. I found them at a local pawn shop that I never knew existed. I always went to a new shop that was put up that sold morgans and Peace dollars for 40-45 bucks! I couldnt get enough nerve to pay that much for a coin I know nothing about. They also sold rosies and mercs for 4-6 bucks. I'm never going back there again because at this new shop I payed SPOT for all theses rosies. They also had 3 Peace dollars all 1922 for 23 bucks each, I might be going back soon for those. all but 2 are 1964's, I decided to cherry pick all the 64'd out to hope I get a DDR the other 2 are 1963 Report this Post to the Staff

mitchhailey Pillar of the Community United States 1150 Posts	Posted 12/30/2011 10:54 pm I think you did the right thing by getting the dimes versus the dollars. You can always sell a few dimes at a time or more if you need to versus having to sell an entire silver dollar. Report this Post to the Staff

The Peace dollars at spot is a steal. many places that sell 90% (dont like the term junk silver, no such thing) say there is a premium on Moran and Peace circulated. If you can get those at spot you should add those 1922 Peace dollars to your stack. Report this Post to the Staff

jewelcard Valued Member United States 135 Posts	Posted 12/31/2011 10:30 am Very nice finds. I picked up 2 rosie's at and antique store for $1/each and a merc for $2. I had to ask if they had any coins but it does pay off to look around. All the pawn shops around here are like yours, $40 - $60 for any silver dollar. Report this Post to the Staff
