Was looking at all my 1930 and I saw this I'm sure its PMD but just to make sure also I think it looks cool almost like a D.

Its under the you in United on the Reverse.

Remember to think in negatives. An indent would mean something got in the way at strike (struck through). Raised metal would be a indention in the working die (die dent). Both means it's most likely a hit.

I'm going with old hit.

Just the obverse dies were punched with the mint mark. The reverses were just put into use. So no chance of the reverse being punched. Just a nick into the coin and a little imagination is all I can see on your coin.
