Does anyone know what happened to The Cent Project?

http://www.thecentproject.com/

It would be great to know what the results were.

Thanks!

I think project was on hold for awhile- the person running it is on this forum, coppercoins, I believe and was moving at the time. Not sure what latest is though. I did a few boxes of cents for that- got really interesting results.

"12/14/2007 - Cent Project on temporary hold"

It appears like he latest update is from December 2007, so my guess is that the "project" is dead.

Yes, I know that, but I know Charles Daughtrey is active in this web site, so hopefully he will give an update on it.

I was hoping he will reply soon, since I am more than willing to help compile the data all by myself.

If you know how to contact him, please let him know that I will review all of the files he has received and give a summary of them. I just hope he still has them somewhere.

Thanks,
Wes

Any News on the life of the project? I've gone through and read most of the archives concerning Mr. Daughtrey's relocation to Florida followed by an overflowing plate.

Regardless, thank you to Mr. Daughtrey's constant updates to his coppercoins website and insightful explanations on the forums here!

It seems as if there is no shortage of volunteers for sorting/data gathering, and also data entering/interpretation. Although I am relatively new to the hobby; I am willing to help out with the project in any way possible. I'm great with data interpretation/compilation and have coordinated large groups of geographically separated individuals.

Given the length of time and changes that this country's economy has seen since the Cent Project's inception, now is the best time to resurrect this unique endeavor! There hasn't been a time in recent history where so many hoards (cents in particular) have been turned in for cash by those needing to liquidate to stay afloat. We should be able to gather a better cross-section of data given the sample population is more true to life.

My questions are these: Where is the raw data now? What form is it in? How much time is left on the cent project's web address registration? Would you be willing to monetize the site (if only google adwords, ebay, pcgs, ngc?) to pay for operating and administration (marketing?)?

There are definitely more resources available to administrators and volunteers to make their jobs easy - could even create a standard webform for volunteers to input data that could compile and analyze in real time. Just as other niches across the internet, the social interaction and comradery among participants could spin off into meetups, get togethers, organizations.

As you can see, I am very interested in awakening the beast, and am positive there are dozens of CCF members as well as other enthusiasts that don't even know about it yet. So I guess if you are reading this CopperCoins, please weigh in with your 2 cents (pun intended) to make this thing happen!

Not sure what is going on with him but I just tried his old web site and it is still there. http://www.coppercoins.com
So if you want to contact him, try that place.
