Hey guys, I'm looking for a good Vancouver, BC coin shop to start dropping some money on my fairly new hobby. So far I've been to J&M but I get the feeling its all business there and the prices seem to be a bit much for me. I hear stories of ppl being able to get some great coins for as low as there silver melt. I'm mainly looking to fill out my .50 and dollar collections. Where do you recommend. Oh and I have bought and sold on ebay awhile back but I'm not to fond of it.

Thanks

I recommend Jim at Western Coin and Stamp in Richmond, (M-W-F) and at Sears in Metrotown (Tue-Thur-Sat).

go to the Vancouver coin show on the 22nd of January and meet many more nice dealers from Vancouver and Victoria. Mostly the guys who are part time or vest pocket dealers. You will find lots to choose from!

What about that J&M Coins? Good? I have never bought form any coin stores in Vancouver. (But I do live there)

How about the one in New Westminster, the one that's the closest to my home?

In my opinion, some new coin stores have cheaper pricings, because they want you to trust them.

I also live in Vancouver and have shopped at all the stores mentioned. I my honest opinion, best price for coins and service is Jim in Richmond. For supplies you can't find them cheaper than J&M. Probably because they by in bulk and can afford to sell them cheaper. The coin show on Jan. 22nd will be a great place to shop. Always lots of good deals. Just leave yourself some time to shop around

Quick example...2x2 holders, everywhere sells them for .85 to $1.25 for 20....J&M $3.00 for 100.

I had no idea there were so many in the lower mainland. All Nations and J&M are the ones that I am acquainted with in the region.

Thanks for the Coin & Stamp Show update/reminder.
