Found late last night (got confirmation from the gang over on the Lincoln Cent Resource site. Thanks again!)

This has always been a tough coin for me to verify!

My second 2004P-1DDR-001/DDO-001!

Really tough for me to see. Is the thickness of the letters the key?

I believe so you can also see the spread in the S.

Nice find!

numismo:

Thickness of the letters and also the elongated dots are a key pick-up point.

all I can say is ...wow. the chances of me seeing, or identifying doubling that subtle is very close to zero. you get my admiration for finding it.

i guess to that extent...i will probably have to describe what I am doing is "coin gatherer" more so than "collector".

i actually pass on trying to find those varieties that are difficult for me to see - even in enlarged photos, let alone trying to see them on the coins - even magnified.

it may well be more rewarding - to find those coins - that are so subtle...but I apparently do not have your patience - or eye for details that small.

I think they are very hard to see also with a loupe but once you get good pictures of them it becomes a little easier. I really need to get a Digital Microscope sometime.

- this is a very tough DDR!

I must have looked at this for a good half hour even after posting it on the LCR site last night to try and determine it's validity.

There are DDO's/DDR's that I also scratch my head on and say "What am I missing here, I don't see anything!"
