Another Australian coin I acquired recently is this 1936 penny. I was wondering if this would grade at AU or XF?

Thanks,
XoG

gAunc
Nice colour clean rims. 8 clear perls and a verry well defined centre diamond and a good strike.
Good eye apeal.
All in all a verry nice example.
I'm not sure why but 1936 Aussie coins seem to found be in realy good condition quite often.

Beautiful example of an Australian Penny. Whilst it has little wear I find it hard to grade as aUNC unless it has at least some lustre remaining. From the photos it is hard to tell sometimes but this one doesn't look like it has any so I would probably put it around the EF mark maybe slightly better gEF.

I think they are found in such good condition for two reasons: 1. High mintage 2. KGV died this year and people wanted to keep a shiny penny as a memento.

Yep, I'll post some more tomorrow. There were also bunch of kangaroo cents and a couple more George V pennies in the lot as well.
