Firstly what is a Tombac, and secondly I have been collectig coins like crazy but am unsure as to if I should stick strictly to graded coins or is it okay to include non graded into my collection. I am not looking to re-sell as I am enjoying the history that goes along with the coins but it would be nice to amke sure that I get back what I paid for it.I seem to have been collecting mostly graded coins MS-63 or higher if the price is right ( been looking over the net and any puplications I can find to get a value from )but occasionally have found some that were never graded by any grading company that I have really liked. ship

Tombac is just a different type of metal used. And I mostly buy raw ( ungraded) but you just have to be the judge about the grade of the coin. Take some time to learn hoe to grade and you will br fine buying ugraded.

Tombac is a type of low-zinc brass. The official formula for the tombac alloy used in WWII 5 cents is 88% copper, 12% zinc.

As for your other question, what you collect is entirely up to you. There's no "law" that you must only collect slabbed coins, or not. As far as I can tell, the main drawback to having some coins in your collection slabbed/graded and some not is they won't all be housed and displayed together, unless you buy some of those "slab-like" coin holders to keep your ungraded coins in. If you don;t think that will bother you, then buy what you like, and forget about the eventual resale price.
