Hi I'm new to the forum. hello every one. hope somebody can help me with this coin. 1912 Commonwealth George One penny. it has the H mint mark for Heaton under the scroll. it looks in brilliant condition. nice crisp detail. The colour looks differant to my other coins and it feels more smooth it looks to have a lustrious shine. could this be a pfoof coin thats been in circulation. ? and what would the value be. ?. I would be most gratefull of any help. Thank you jacqueline.

jacqueline.

In order to give you more of an opinion people will need to see photos of the coin you have. Is this possible? Without them giving you any information would be nothing more than a stab in the dark.

Sounds like it might just be a high grade circulation strike, photos would assist.

There is no proof strike, but there is a specimen strike (McD lists specimens under the proof column to save space). The specimen strike has semi-lustrous, semi-matte fields (usually dulled due to toning), similar to the other Heaton mint specimen strikes.

You can see an illustration of the specimen strike here: http://www.bluesheet.com.au/Austral...pecimen_(SP)
