matchbox Pillar of the Community United States 1007 Posts	Posted 01/09/2012 3:08 pm Since they decided not to mint tens of millions of the Presidential dollars anymore and they'll be not intended for circulation, does anyone know if banks will still be able to order them in? Or will it be ordering from the mint at a premium now? I've been getting my rolls at the local bank at face but am wondering it that will stop. Hope not! Report this Post to the Staff

wquinn Pillar of the Community United States 2295 Posts	Posted 01/09/2012 3:36 pm Banks won't be able to get them, since they aren't minted for circulation anymore. Banks get the coins from the Federal Reserve (FR). The FR orders them from the Mint. Since the FR can't order them (per law) from the Mint, the banks can't get them. Banks don't get coins from the Mint. paparet Valued Member United States 253 Posts	Posted 01/11/2012 11:08 am Thanks for the information. It is hard to tell what the US Mint is going to do. They seem so fickle so times. It is hard to tell when it is the best time to order from them. I assume that the 2012 President dollars will not be included the the Direct Ship program. Report this Post to the Staff

I'm not a huge fan of the Presidential dollars but wanted to get the set anyway. Glad to hear they dropped the price but it's still over face so might just get a few off ebay when they're released.
