I was wondering if anyone has bought boxes of brinks pennies lately? The last few I got had no pre 82 pennies.

I just searched my first Brinks box and it had plenty of copper. What I found odd was the large number of corroded and downright nasty Zink pennys present. I also found 4 wheats, five canadian pennys and a BU/perfect Bremuda penny.

I'm working on a fresh Brink's box right now. Usual 25-30% copper. Sounds like you might be in an area of a heavy-duty copper investor or two. Some of these guys go through many boxes each day. There are still plenty of error varieties for you to hunt for in that non-copper box you have.

I just finished a $20 box and it had a good mix throughout. I found some 1969 s, 1970 s, about 40-72 p's, 71 p's, and about 20 wheat pennies a 1940 s, 1934P, 1935P, 1943P+D, 1952D, 1953P+D, 1955P, 1956P, 1957 P+D, 1959P, 1960P+D, plus more doubles for the wheat cents. Other boxes that I've searched had nothing but this last one was actually pretty good. Some of the rolls were plastic wrapped instead of paper wrapped which I've never seen before. I haven't went through the 1960 and up double die dates yet but usually put them into rolls and set them aside for later investigation.

Quote: I just finished a $20 box I noticed you are from Canada... the box you just mentioned, was this a US box or Canadian box? US boxes are $25... perhaps you just misspoke, or you found these in a Canadian box?

TWIMC- If you get a box of rolled pennies with "X's" down the middle of the roll....don't bother looking through them....I already got the good stuff! :)

Brinks just landed a contract to pull like a million dollars in copper pennies out of circulation ,so they just turned their super sorter on. You may get the tail end of that
EDIT: Sorry It was ..."$5,000,000 FACE VALUE in copper pennies. Yes, that is 1,666.66 TONS!"
