Purchased these about 2 hours ago. Cherry picked the 8tf from a group of Morgans sold for silver....around $27 the 78-s was a little bit more ....what would you grade?

You got an 8TF for melt? 0_0

I'm thinking the '78-S is 63-ish and the 8TF is low-EF-ish. Any chance of a detail image of the 8TF showing the area where wings meet legs?

This is about as detailed as I can get with my point and shoot. Yeah I was pretty happy with pulling the 8tf out.....however my dad beat me to the 78 w/ a 79 reverse in AU 58.....got that one for $29....which I will be trying to attribute that one

The 78-S looks like it may make MS-64 and the 78 looks to be about EF-40. Nice pickups!

Great picks! I say MS63 on the "S" and EF40 on the 8TF. Can't wait for the results on the VAM numbers.

Wow! Nice picks!

Is that 1878-S a long arrow nock? Can't quite tell from the photo? If so score of the decade!

doesn't look like a long nock to me. I will say MS-63 on the 78-S and EF of the 8TF

The 78-S looks around 63 and the 78 8TF around VF35~EF40. The 78-S is not a long nock ... no long nocks have a broken 'r' in "trust". The 8TF appears to be a VAM 2. Great pickups for that price.

I've determined the 78-s to be either a VAM 46 or 46-A....will have to take a closer look when I get home....based that off my photos. Need to get the 8tf under a scope.....will check out VAM 2 first.
