1944-S LMC Mint Mark?

What's going on with this mint mark? It's not a RPM but it does kind of look like part of a inverted S

Not sure whats up with the "S" mint mark...but I do wanna see the Reverse! A 44 LMC is a bit ahead of its time!

Just to let you know LMC stands for Lincoln Memorial cent.

And on the S, that is a die chip.

There is a heavy gouge on the coin that made contact with the mint mark. From rim to above the 1 in the date. Just damaged.

I can see a faint "D" above the "S" mint mark...Nice find..
