they appear depressed ..one goes from top of 5th feather to bottom of 9th. another to left of that goes from5 to bomm of 6 and they don't appear to be cuts
the shapes directly under the 4th feather look a bit like leaves...

Possibly a strike through. Some fibrous material between the dies, a bit of 'fluff' or similar, steel wool? Just my opinion of course.

i have brought steel that has a similar look at times, so I tend to think its caused in the milling of the steel.

Thanks for your thought ppl...but if its in the milling of the steel, why then does it go across the feathers?
