Another perplexing coin for me. Looks like its been Struck Through Grease or something of that sort, details are SUPER mushy and it looks excessively worn due to the mushy detail but the details of the coin appear to be those of a VF coin which leads me to believe that it had been Struck Through Grease or something like that. Just had a really odd look to it but I'm certain that it isn't a fake or anything like that. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

It just looks worn from circulation to me.

Not a Greaser. Nicely circulated though! Exactly the sort that we should save from melt.

I'm not so sure. By the time the devices are that worn, I'd expect the rims to be worn into the stars and lettering. For the rim to be missing at 3:00 like it is, I wouldn't expect to see denticles anywhere. This is an interesting coin, and I gotta think about it.
Rest in Peace

My first thought was that of Mitch. Someones pocket piece. After looking at the pictures again it appears to be a very unusual (sporadic) wear pattern.

It does have a very odd wear pattern and for the amount of wear on the obverse it has plenty of detail (like in the hair), the details on the reverse are alittle more clear but sort of mushy and also have the eagle feather detail of a mid grade coin possibly in the low vf range. On the reverse the lettering is really sharp around the 4:00 to 5:00 position but around the 9:00 its real mushy and from the 12:00 to 1:00 its real mushy. On the obverse as you can see the 10:00 to 4:00 is SUPER mushy. Just really odd, I mean I've bought and sold probably around 500 morgans or more and I've never ran into one with such mushy details like this before with such an odd pattern before this one.

If it was Struck Through Grease, the rim would be there. Just wear, but I love circulated Morgans
