I stopped by a coin buddy yesterday. This guy has some of the wildest rotated die coins as well as multiple rotated die clashed dated coins one could hope to see in a Full show and they are all in one of his boxes.

3 of the coins have PVC on them and are in acetone and I will then run them up the a jewelry shop and hit them with steam. I figure that they are already (Detailed coins already). Maybe with the acetone it will break up.

Sweet rotations Russ. Love the 2¢, I'm doing an entire clock posistion set of them. Love the die cracks, that is from the reverse hub with a full serif on the D of United, looks like that die was doomed to a few more strikes before failure. Love everything about it but the PVC.

nice scores in the original post. nice higher grade (PVC issue aside) 1863 with a 80 degree CCW rotation. I would have taken a few of those myself; I've only ever found one rotated coin at a coin shop (always one or two at coin shows). LOVE the 1889-O rotated Morgan, I've never even seen one of those. Nice R-6 on that one.

this seems to have morphed into 'everyone post their own rotated coin'. Not to hijack the original post, but here is one of my favorites. Not my most rare one, but it's an 1868 indian, Proof 65 RB (NGC), 170 degree rotated dies.

Russ, I'm sorry to hear about you Mom, spend your time with her now while you can. My father went through hospice the last couple of years, he passed away 2 weeks ago, never an easy time. Best wishes go out to you through these difficult times.

Well here are the 3 after Acetone and a light steaming to blow out the garbage. The last obverse photo is darker then the coin the reverse shows the true color. I will noW just leave them on a oak block for a few mo. and let them completely go back to the color they where "just without the garbage.

I would normally never do this but with all the Bio trash in them and PVC I had nothing to lose. It also looks as if I removed the PVC before any metal damage was done.

BY THE WAY EVERYONE FEEL FREE TO ADD YOUR ROTATED DIE COINS TO THE POST! LET'S MAKE IT FUN!

Note to all: The 1885 Morgan I posted, upon closer look, appears to be counterfeit. (I guess it's easy to be an error coin, if it's fake!) I've asked the Mods to delete my post and I apologize to you all and especially to you, Russ for posting it!

Merry Christmas to all!
