Die polishing to cover clashes that are too deep remove edges of devices. This happens if the die has under gone multiple clashes. That area is a targer area for both the wheat and Memorial reverses.
Abraded die and polished die is the same thing. I prefer using "abraded die" because polished die sounds like something the mint does to make a proof die and abraded die sounds like what the mint does to "fix" a die clash on a die.IMHO, John1
Dies are polished to remove clash marks in the fields. The fields being the outside face of the die allows this to remove unwanted clash lines. Devices are sunk into the die material which is a negative to strike up a positive coin.
