This doesn't look like any Machine Doubling that I have ever seen. Is there different levels of double die, or am I just getting my hopes up?

It is MD. Look at the "C" in CENT. Notice how the "secondary" image merges with the main "C", there is no separation or splitting. It is the same device not two devices.

It is common Machine Doubling. Flat shelf like. On the big DDR for this year you can see the devices enlarged. Here are images:

On your coin the devices are damaged from die movenment. Not enlarged.
