Just got this.... Surely has been dipped, it's way to clean. But it weighs 6.20 and that seems light. Is that within the tolerance of this wear?

Weight?

Weight?t the question is on this coin given the wear is 6.2 grams out of the norm. It concerns me, because it seems a lot.

This coin is within Weight Tolerance, with the extent of wear shown here. An uncirculated Quarter of 1856 should weigh 6.22 grammes.

This coin is a 'keeper'!

RedBook 2012 lists the 1856 Seated Liberty quarter as having "the Variety 1 resumed (no Arrows design) with the weight standard of Variety 2 (the old "Arrows" weight = which is 6.22 grams).

I think you're good. Your coin appears to be authentic to me.

Grade: Obverse: VF-30, Reverse: F-15 (possible soft strike?) Overall: VF-20.
