I can't find a reference with ASW for 20th-Century French silver coins, but rummaging around on the Internet, I came up with this. I am probably missing things.

50 Centimes 1871-1920 0.0671
1 Franc 1871-1920 0.1342
2 Francs 1870-1920 0.2684
5 Francs 1960-1969 0.3221
10 Francs 1929-1939 0.2186
10 Francs 1965-1973 0.7234
50 Francs 1974-1979 0.8682

Is there a reference online I can check with?

THanks.

Those match the values given in krause. I think the only one you missed is the pre-reform 20 francs, 1929-1939, ASW .4372

Try CurrencyDebasement's silver page.

According to that, there's also the 100 francs from 1982-2000, though like the 50 francs that preceded it, it did not formally circulate.

Sap: they were circulating, as much as the current 10 / 20 / 50 / 100 / 200 / 500 euro coins do :)
You could pay with them, they were legal tender, but in fact yes no one was using those.
A bit like the 2 dollar coins I suppose.

I only saw once a 100 franc coin in a café, while talking to the bartender - a granny did pay her mill using this ...
They were also given by some grandparents at christmas - and most of the time they were kept safe, unlike regular bills which every children would gladly use to buy stuffs :D
