Cell phone pictures and then a scan are the best I can do. I'm wanting to buy an actual camera someday soon. It really does look better in hand. What do you think she grades at?

This one is a tricky one, my friend! The reverse shows very little wear, close to an MS coin; almost flawless. The obverse, however, shows lots of detail missing, IMO, from the strike not wear, but with some circulation marks on the lower face and neck.

Soooooooo.... I'm going with an AU-55.

A drooler for sure!
Rest in Peace

I completely agree with Moe. Very soft struck obverse.

Yeah I figured it was mostly a weak strike that caused it to look like this.

its a high grade coin with probably worn obv dies? the reverse is especially nice with all the vertical lines in the roman numerals III. I will also say AU these are a tricky coin type to grade.

There's a small rim ding at 10 but I don't find it too distracting. And I loved how all the lines on the reverse were visible. The coin in hand also has some great color. Very happy with this purchase.

hey; I'm looking for a 1880 3 cent in G4 - F15 just to fill an empty hole in kids 3c folder.

I agree with Moe145, weak striks with mint luster still present on the surfaces, but just enough breaks in that luster to garner an AU coin, plus some hits and ticks that come from circulating, someone probably pulled this coin from change very soon after it was released, it is very close to an uncirculated, just not quite there, so close though.
