I just picked up a 1916-s Walking Liberty on ebay the other day, grades PCGS VF35 for $535.00. Hope I didn't overpay too much. Still cannot figure how to post pics though.

I've probably overpaid for a lot of coins, but here's a particularly egregious example: I allowed myself to get into a bidding war and ended up paying well over $200 for a coin that was polished to within an inch of its life.

I'm pretty sure I have overpaid for every Barber coin I have plucked from the melt tubs during the past year, in a perhaps misguided effort to see how much of a set I can build doing it this way. It is not all that easy to find them with both rims mostly intact, which is my condition standard. And they seldom have any reeding left.

Club coin auction, my notebook said to stop bidding on this coin at $8.00, but got caught up in the action and paid way too much, $16.00.

This should qualify. Rather than saying that I overpaid I prefer to say that I paid for what the market demands. Paid $356.88 Just last November. CDN ask price only $200.00 And there were two other bidders who wanted it as much as I.
