this should be fun, I will start off with one I probably overpaid to get, but after searching for sooooo long, I HAD to hit it. and I ended up using most of it, so I'm not the only one that wanted it. the date should be legible as 1846 .. what isn't very legible in the scan is the O mintmark on back.

First coin I ever bought when I just started getting into coins and I didn't know anything. Didn't know about damage like the small holes in this bad boy. Was $120 after taxes which was probably way way way too much. lol. All well, you live and you learn. I'm sure everyones first purchase was not so good.

look at it this way, at the time you bought it, if you would have spent that $120 on gasoline, you wouldnt have anything to show for it.

Interesting idea for a thread.
I can't think of any coins that I severely overpaid for, off the top of my head.

Ummm...yes...actually...I did. Do not see an O mint listed in the business strike or proof strike listings on numismedia......hence...the question.
1843 O 1844 1845 1845 O 1846 1847 1848

This coin was shipped in loose tissue paper that seemed to create high point wear during shipping.

WOW, I would not have minded overpaying some for that spectacular 1916 Walker. Love the toning! Are you going to reveal the pricely sum?

$325 in 2009, it would have gone 62 or 63 if it had been shipped correctly.
