Hi, I've tumbled across a listing on
ebay which the seller claims the item he is selling is a 1972 100 kroner note from Denmark, pick 51a. However, I have reasons to believe the item is not as the seller claims. So, if you're familiar with danish currency, I would really like to have your input on this :)
At first I was interested in the note but, upon looking at the pictures, something was not right. Here is front and back side of the note:

Notice the serial number on the front of the note. It starts with F9. However, in the catalogue it says that p51a for Denmark has a serial number starting with A0-A2, and the more recent this particular note was printed, the higher the serial number is, up to E3-E4 in 1993. It would be then plausible for that note to have been printed in 1995.
Also, according to the nationalbanken website of Denmark, revised versions of this note are known as the 1972A series. And if you look at the back of the note you can see SERIE 1972A.
Here is the quote taken directly from the official website:
Quote:
"Re-issued in revised version
In 1995 the 100-krone banknote was re-issued in a revised version with enhanced protection against counterfeiting. At that time, Danmarks Nationalbank had commissioned a new printing press using an improved printing technique, making it possible to add new and better security features to the banknote. These new features included microprint, a partly visible metallic security thread and strong colours (diamond pattern on the banknote). Only the 100-krone banknote in the 1972 series was issued in a revised version, known as the 1972A series."
With the link here:
http://www.nationalbanken.dk/DNUK/N...OpenDocumentFor these reasons, I am led to believe that this note is in fact a 1995 revised version of the 1972 note.
What do you guys think?
Thanks,
Baanos
