Do you keep all your sets in albums?
I have albums for a couple of my complete sets -- Eisenhower and the the 20th-C types, of course -- but others I just keep in plastic 2x2s, filed away in a box together. As long as I know I have every coin in the set, I don't think an album is necessary.
I was wondering how others deal with it, just out of curiosity.

Over 100 Albums. Mostly Whitman Classics but also a few Danscos. I keep the majority of sets in those.

I keep most of my coins in albums. The old Library of Coins albums are my absolute favorite. For some of my more expensive coins I use an Intecept shield album. Nothing looks nicer than a set of unc. Franklins in a 50 year old album.

Yes, I use Dansco albums. The albums make reviewing my collection more enjoyable, especially when they are complete.

It's kinda hard to put slabs in ablums...I use trays and place those trays in a Pelican case...I probably need to put a silca bag in there for moisture absorbtion that may get stuck in the case, being air-tight, and water reseistant.
My partial collections (Lincolns, Liberty Head Nickels and Jeffersons) from when I was younger were (and still are) in Whitman Classic Albums (fixin' to part with those sets).

My raw coins are in 22 different Dansco albums. My certified coins are all slabbed in NGC or PCGS air tight slabs and stored in the 20 coins NGC slab cases. I find it is easier to keep track of and organize my collection in this manner.

I like the Dansco albums. However, I also have a few coins in slabs. What I have done with my Barber dime collection is to place ordinary modern dimes into the holes. I stick a loose-leaf reinforcement to each dime and write the name of the third party grading service and the assigned grade. While not ideal this compromise works for me. Coins for which I do now have an album, the type coins, I have put into 2X2s. Matthew

I plan to put my more recent acquisitions into Dansco albums. I like the look of complete or near complete sets in albums. I can't wait for the 7070 to come back into print. I still have all of my Whitman folders with all of my roll finds from when I was a kid in the early 70's. They will stay right where they are. Still have a lot of slabbed coins in boxes that will mostly stay slabbed. A ton of 2x2's in boxes. Crap, I've got stuff everywhere.

I have all my coins in 2x2's then placed into 3 ring binders for a total of 49 and climbing.

I go with Dansco Albums for standard coin sets. For my type set I have moved away from the 7070 to Coin World Premier holders to match my PCGS slabs in the type set. For some reason I have to have all the coins in a set in the same style holder. I can't seem to say to myself... Here is my set and the proof for the set is located in the proof sets in another box.. I need to get a single proof to put in the set. Whether it be in the Dansco or in the type set CW Premier holder... Albums are great for presentation and completion tracking..

Some Danscos, extra coins stay in 2x2s stored in vinyl sheets in binders. Had the red & black boxes, much too difficult to find a specific coin, and they could flip over, spilling the contents.

The sets I'm not focusing on, are in Whitman's the sets I'm focusing on go into airtites and then NoVa trays. I like being able to see what I'm working on, watch as it nears completion- man thats a long way off!

I have started several Dansco albums, a U.S. modern half dollar commemortive and a Canadian silver dollar album. Other than that I keep most everything in a 2x2. I have started cracking some coins out of their mint holders because I end up not looking at them as often, plus I find it a pain when showing people the coins. I find the 2x2's in the plastic pages to be nice and uncluttered. So while I have some hoarding tendancies, I am not real big on keeping my coins where I can't get them out and view them. I must say that I like the look of the Dansco albums on the shelf though. Having to see the progress in a spreadsheet would annoy me. But I collect the coins I do because I like them as art or as precious metal (back when coins were "real" because they had copper and silver in them). I am not big on buying everything from a check list. I do have my coins in a spreadsheet though, that keeps track of the value and the precious metal content, if any. I just add them and then watch the numbers automatically add up for the "value" of the collection. I think that is cool, but it does back fire on me sometimes because then my wife sees how much I have in the coins. :-) This is just my current view and it is apt to change with my mood, as it has already changed several times since I started collecting.
