Recently, I have been studying fake ancients so I can better spot them for sale, which has also helped me better appreciate the work that went in to striking coins in Greco-Roman times. In my research, I ran across this fascinating eBook that compares genuine Roman denarii to fakes. While the Google translation to English isn't perfect, the wealth of photographs more than compensates.

I've used that site before - they have some good info on later Roman coins.
