wrongalot Pillar of the Community United States 608 Posts	Posted 01/28/2012 9:41 pm So, I bought a proof set from local dealer for $5.00 and got to looking at the LMC, and look what I saw...hope you see the same..would be a great find for me...thanks I may be wrong but I see doubling and notches....and no they are not flat and shelf like, they are raised... I am not good at taking pics, but will keep trying. Thanks for all the opinions here. And yes I know the BIG ONE is dominate when it comes to seeing the doubling, I am not suggesting that this coin is that one. But I am seeing some notching, and it may be nothing. Hence my name. Where this happens, do you see how those devices are reduced in size? On a real doubled die the devices are enlarged with the doubling on the die and not created because of die movement IE: Machine Doubling.
