well, apparently it's low mintage,

I think everyone is going crazy cause the RAM posted the mintage at 4 mil, but that was only for the first 6 months, for all we know they could make 40 million in the next few months and it will be worth next to nothing, but $45 for a bag? that's the most I've ever seen for a bag of the same year (well newly produced anyways).

This is a crazy price for these bags. I sold two $2 bags of 2010 5c tonight on ebay and got approx $12 with $3 postage. Its not as much as the 50c bags but still crazy. I dont think we will see too many low mintage years for a while. Seems like there is a constant demand.

The final mintage figures for all 2011 coins will not be known until about Nov 2012, so for anyone to claim a low mintage is incorrect.

It's even possible that the next annual report from the RAM will even have more figures for 2010 coins.

I've seen mintage stats for 1 year's coins spread over 3 Annual reports.

life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

maybe if all the coin collectors stopped collecting coins, they might mint less cause there will be more in circulation.

Reminds me a lot of the 2007 50cent con,the first half of that year also said 4 million,as we now know it ended up close to 19 million.

Buying based on pre-mature mintage numbers is quite a gamble. Sometimes it could pay off, but usually it is a struggle to recover the initial investment. I gamble on silver values and sometimes I win big but often lose.
